Sunless Airbrush Tanning is a process which uses products containing Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This substance reacts with the amino acids in your skin to form a natural looking tan. To start, a fine mist is sprayed onto your body by our aesthetician through a precise technique that provides you with a flawless and natural tan. The color will continue to develop for approximately 6-8 hours after the initial application. You can choose your shade for a custom, sun-kissed glow that is completely safe and without the damaging effects from UVA/UVB rays.
Sunless Airbrush Tanning Tips
The Day Before Your Appointment:
Exfoliate your skin 6-8 hours prior to your airbrush tanning appointment. Spend a little extra time on knees, elbows, feet and hands. Shave with soap and water only, do not use oil based cleansers or shave creams.
The Day of Your Appointment:
You will meet with your aesthetician and go over different color options from dark to just a “touch” of color. Your natural skin tone determines how dark you can choose to go. Fair skin will turn orange if the airbrush solution is too dark.
Arrive with your skin free of any body lotion, perfume, or makeup.
You can wear whatever you like for your airbrush tanning treatment. Women may wear a bathing suit, undergarments, or nothing at all. Men must wear a bathing suit or undergarment. We have disposable paper undergarments. However, most clients are more comfortable in their own bathing suit or undergarments. Plan to wear loose dark clothing after your treatment.
Following Your Appointment
Keep your skin dry and do not shower for at least 6-8 hours. Your color is developing for 6-8 hours after application. Do not exercise until after your first shower. You may wish to wait until the next morning to shower. Your first shower should be a lukewarm water rinse, no soap. The color you see rinsing off is a temporary cosmetic bronzer, this is normal.
To prolong life of your airbrush tan moisturize daily. Use sunscreen daily. Your sunless airbrush tan does not protect your skin from the harmful effects of sun exposure.
