IPL Photofacial

October 23, 2023 | Laser

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial treatments reduce the effects of sun damage to the skin, which often appear as redness, broken capillaries and discoloration or sun spots. IPL Photofacial treatments reduce these discolorations by delivering a broadband light through the skin for optimal skin rejuvenation making the skin tone more even and bright.

How Does It Work?

IPL involves a non-ablative laser that has been carefully calibrated to seek out specific pigments in the skin – redness, darker discolored patches or dark spots. The actual IPL Photofacial procedure feels like the mild snapping of rubber bands against the skin’s surface. With each snap, the IPL Photofacial light beam penetrates deep below the skin’s surface to treat the issues at the source. For successful elimination of redness, sun spots and acne scars (discoloration), a patient will likely require multiple IPL Photofacial treatments. The Photofacial can truly create a marked difference in the patient’s skin over time, since the skin, with proper skin care, continues to improve for weeks after the actual IPL treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

We offer a series of 5 Photofacial treatments. Depending on the severity of your conditions more treatments may be necessary to achieve your best results. Treatments are administered every 3-4 weeks (timing may vary for each patient) and each session takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on area(s). IPL Photofacials are not only for the face. The neck, chest, back, arms and legs can also be treated.

What Can I Expect Following Treatment?

Typically, most people experience mild, sunburn like sensation. The skin tends to be slightly pink in areas that were treated and usually subsides within a few hours. Post procedure products will be applied including moisturizer and sunscreen to help calm and protect skin.

IPL Hair Reduction
