ClearV® Laser Vein Treatment

Vanish the Veins You Can’t Even See

Vascular lesions usually do not go away on their own, which is why many patients seek treatment. ClearV was specifically designed to eliminate these unwanted vessels.

How it Works

ClearV effectively and safely treats visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, vascular lesions, and skin discoloration.

Visible vascular structures will be gently eliminated. Unwanted vessels will be heated by the laser energy and become less noticeable.

Consultation for a ClearV Laser Vein Treatment

Before beginning the treatment, your laser specialist will discuss the area to be treated with you as well as what to expect and do post treatment.

In order to properly document the progress of your treatment, your laser specialist will also take pictures before the treatment. He or she will let you know when to come back for the after picture.

Before the treatment, you will be asked to remove your make-up or moisturizer and, if needed, you will be asked to shave the area to be treated. You will not need an aesthetic cream or ice prior to treatment.

What to Expect with ClearV

Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area being treated.
Laser energy will be delivered precisely to the area of your skin being treated. You may feel a brief warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are absorbed by the unwanted vessels.

What areas can ClearV treat?

All areas can be treated, although the more popular areas are the legs and face.

Do I only need 1 ClearV treatment to eliminate my unwanted veins?

The number of treatments required will depend upon the number of vessels present, the character of the vessels, and your body’s ability to heal. Depending on the size and depth of your vessel, some patients might need 1 to 3 treatments to fully reach their goals.

How does vein illumination work?

The ClearV handpiece is uniquely designed to visualize sub-surface veins with yellow or orange light which are integrated into the hand piece. This provides the treating physician with enhanced visibility, allowing for a more thorough and effective treatment.

Is ClearV uncomfortable?

There should be little to no discomfort, however it varies from patient to patient and depends on the treatment. There is no need for anesthesia and your physician will discuss your options to properly manage any discomfort from the treatment. ClearV has integrated cooling which will improve your experience. There should be no prolonged post treatment discomfort.

What aftercare will I need? Can I return to exercise after a ClearV treatment?

It is important to follow your laser specialist’s instructions. You may be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Strictly avoid any sun exposure to the treated area for a minimum of 7 days after the procedure. The treated area is more prone to sunburn and pigmentation change. Keep the area covered and use a sun block with a protection factor of 30+ and reapply the sun block every two hours. Generally, we ask you to refrain from active exercise for 48 to 72 hours post treatment. This is to ensure that the vessels stay closed, and you achieve the best results in fewer treatments.

Until sensitivity has completely subsided, AVOID all of the following:

  • Applying make-up over the treated areas
  • Use of scented lotions or soaps, exfoliant creams (Retin-A, glycolic/salicylic and alpha-hydroxy acids), acne creams or gels, loofa sponges and aggressive scrubbing
  • Excessively hot water
  • Shaving
  • Swimming pools and spas with multiple chemicals/chlorine and severe temperature changes
  • Activities that cause excessive perspiration
  • Hot tubs and hot showers for 48-72 hours

How long will it take to recover?

Your healing time will depend upon your actual treatment. In most cases, there is virtually no downtime and you may resume your daily activities immediately. Subsequent treatments are based upon your laser specialist recommendation and are typically 4-6 weeks apart.

Do I need to wear support hose after a ClearV treatment?

Your laser specialist will discuss this with you during your initial consultation, but most providers will recommend some form of compression for 5 to 7 days post treatment.
