Brazilian Butt Lift

Brazilian Butt Lift

Oftentimes, exercise alone cannot sculpt the bottom or waist to an individual’s desired contour. Strenuous workouts such as squats and lunges can be effective over time but this is not always the case. For this reason, we offer patients the option of sculpting their perfect bottom using a popular surgical procedure known as the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure

The Brazilian Butt Lift is a two-part operation that utilizes liposuction and fat grafting to lift and augment the bottom. Areas where patients most frequently have liposuction include the upper abdomen, lower abdomen, flanks, inner thighs, outer thighs, and lower back. The fat that is suctioned from these areas is then fat grafted into the buttock region to achieve a plump and round appearance. The BBL procedure therefore allows us not only to augment the bottom but also to slim the waist and create a curvier backside, both of which serve to accentuate the behind and create your ideal contour.
After a Brazilian Butt Lift, it is recommended that you refrain from sitting or laying on your bottom for at least two weeks. You will be fitted with a compression garment immediately after surgery that covers the areas where you received liposuction and has openings for your bottom so the fat grafts are not compressed. It is recommended that you wear this garment for a few weeks after surgery. This will help maintain your new body contour. After the initial period of wearing your surgical garment, Dr. Sullivan may suggest an additional garment or waist trainer to further compress the treated areas to achieve your ideal body contour.

Are You a Candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure is unique because it requires potential candidates to have a sufficient amount of donor fat in the aforementioned areas to proceed with surgery. During your consultation at either our Annapolis or Easton location, Dr. Sullivan can determine if the Brazilian butt lift is the best treatment to meet your needs. We require that every surgical patient has a BMI of 36 or below with enough fat per area to transfer into the buttock region.

Another Procedure to Consider

Sometimes 360 lipo is a good alternative to a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). Often referred to as the “little sister” of the BBL, 360 lipo incorporates liposuction to all of the areas generally treated during a BBL (abdomen, flanks, waist, lower back, lateral thighs, medial thighs) without the extra step of purifying that fat and injecting it back into the buttocks. This procedure is particularly good for patients who already have a moderate amount of volume in the right distribution in their buttocks, but still want to accentuate this area.

This is also a great procedure for those who may not be able to accommodate the activity restrictions necessary for a BBL. This procedure carries the bonus of less time in surgery and less expense.

When you come in for a consultation, Dr. Sullivan will be able to evaluate whether or not you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift. Our team will help you make a customized plan for your Brazilian Butt Lift depending on the areas from which you would like to have fat removed and what silhouette you want to achieve.
